I was interviewed for a BBC Radio 1 documentary, New York Hijabis to discuss how media coverage of Muslim women has grown and the fashion industry's adoption of modest/Hijabi fashion. It aired in the U.K. and U.S. and was syndicated across BBC stations.

The Newsette, a daily morning newsletter, featured me in their ongoing series "Pillow Talk" to break down my nightly routine.

"6:30 P.M. At this hour, I’m typically still at the office wrapping up work! My evenings are pretty unpredictable, but lately I’ve been trying to be more mindful about cutting off and prioritizing work-life balance. The internet never stops and, as someone who writes for a website, it’s tempting to keep going until late in the night. My biggest trick for forcing myself to break away from my computer? Book a workout class."

Vince Camuto's blog The Crest featured StyleBistro.com editors in a photo shoot/article about New Year's resolutions. The Camuto Group gave each of us a resolution––mine was to be more outgoing––and we styled our own looks.

"Breaking away from a Netflix marathon can be a challenge for Kristina. Her 2015 goal is to get out of the house more often. To motivate her to gather her girlfriends for cocktails, scope out new music scenes, or take in the theatre, Kristina turned to the sexy and strappy Narrital heel. “What better way to inspire more outings than with statement shoes that need to be seen?” she asks. Valid point. Kristina can’t expect to remain plopped on her couch when tony heels like that are idling in her closet. These covetable party stilettos practically demand to be seen out and about, stepping up to a posh bar or leading the pack at a buzzing club."

I've been invited to speak about digital media, writing, working in the fashion/beauty industry, and how to make yourself stand out as you're starting out. Here is a select list of ones I've been featured on:
  • Keynote Speaker, NYU Gallatin Business Club's "Designing Your Degree and Customizing Your Career (September 2017)
  • New York University Fashion Business Association's Digital/Editorial Panel (April 2017)
  • FindSpark Fashion Career Conference: Moving Up: Going from Intern to Full-Time (February 2017)
  • New York University International Filipino Association Career Panel (April 2016)
  • FindSpark Fashion Career Conference: Moving Up: Going from Intern to Full-Time (February 2016)

He had on blue nail polish. He approached me after my talk, smiling. "I just want to thank you," he said, "For the way you talked about beauty being for everyone." He told me he was just starting to get into makeup but was nervous. "I feel like a lot of people don't get it." Then I asked him what his favorite makeup brands are. We talked about beauty bloggers. And highlighters. And foundation. // My heart is full □ I was invited back to @nyugallatin to discuss how my made-up major led me to my work @POPSUGARbeauty, @elleusa, etc. I stayed nearly 2 hours afterward talking to students about their dreams, ambitions, hesitations, media...and lipstick recommendations. Someone told me they just read an article of mine on FB yesterday. And I was reminded how cool my job is. And how beauty can connect so many different people. □□□
