For Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, I participated in a panel hosted by LVMH and Dior Beauty to share my experience as a Filipino American working in beauty and media. I discussed everything from harmful stereotypes and colorism to actionable items the beauty industry can take to be more inclusive.

Host: Glow Recipe AAPI Beauty + Fashion Fest

I moderated a panel featuring influencers Chriselle Lim, Nabela Noor, makeup artist Daniel Martin, and Glow Recipe founder Christine Chang. We discussed our different heritages and the way they influence our beauty routines and personal style, as well as how to build up confidence and find your voice.


Presenter: AAPI Women Strong

As a presenter, I spoke on the importance of self care and introduced Tony Award winner (and my personal idol growing up) Lea Salonga before she performed. Fellow speakers included Hillary Clinton, Padma Lakshmi, Lucy Liu, and Michelle Kwan, and the fundraiser benefited NAPAWF, an organization that empowers AAPI women and girls.


Panelist: Revolve U

I was a speaker at Revolve’s inaugural virtual career, entrepreneurship, and wellness summit and participated on a panel about mental health, social media, and the importance of self-care alongside Chrissy Rutherford, Dr. Deepika Chopra, and Pia Baroncini. Other notable speakers in the summit were Miranda Kerr, Shay Mitchell, Nicole Richie, and Jen Atkin.


Host: Create & Cultivate Beauty Summit

I was a moderator for the mega-popular Create & Cultivate conference . I interviewed Coco Bassey, Hunter McGrady, Candice Kumai, Christina Grasso, and Candice Nikeia about the business of beauty, influencing, and self-care.

I was a panelist for #WomenWithImpact hosted by HerStyleMedia and Twitter. The conversation revolved around how to use social media to elevate your career and make meaningful #content.

AAGC is an online community started by actress Ally Maki. I spoke on the Filipino-American Voices in Media panel, where we discussed Filipino culture and the importance of representation–especially in creative industries. You can watch the full video here

We talked about what it takes to push the diversity conversation further and being unapologetically proud of who you are–especially when the room of decision-makers doesn’t look like you.

I hosted a fireside chat with Dante Basco for Viacom’s Asian American Media Professionals chapter. I intervieweed him about his work voicing Zuko in Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, starring in movies like Take the Lead, and coming up in Hollywood as a Filipino American.
